Heroes

Lots of news in the superhero world last week, as the first image of the titular character from next year's Thor movie was released. Click to see Chris Hemsworth in his Asgardian garb at Screenrant.com.

Iron Man 2 opened internationally, bringing in a boat load of money and getting fairly decent reviews (76% at RottenTomatoes right now if you're into that kinda stuff). Whether the reviewer liked it or not the general consensus was that it isn't as good as the first one. The sequel opens stateside this Friday and to say I'm excited would be an understatement.

Lost amongst all this news might be one of the best articles I've read all year. Check out this story about a real-life [fake] superhero:

Local boy with cancer turns into a superhero for a day

Erik Martin, who is living with liver cancer, has always wanted to be a superhero. On Thursday, the regional chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted him that wish with an elaborate event that involved hundreds of volunteers in Bellevue and Seattle.

[read] at the Seattle Times.
When usually all you hear from the news is negative stories stemming from every corner of the world it's refreshing to hear something so absolutely positive from time to time. This made my whole weekend, and hopefully warms your heart as well.
