Top 10 Played Songs

While scrolling through my digital music collection, I thought it would be interesting to see which songs (out of a little over 1500 in my library) have been played the most. Right-clicking on the table headers in Rhapsody (I think you can do the same thing in iTunes), I was able to turn on the "Play Count" column and then sort my library by times played. The results:
 Title Artist Rating/5     Count
Top of the WorldThe Carpenters517
SuperstarThe Carpenters513
We've Only Just BegunThe Carpenters512
Rainy Days and MondaysThe Carpenters511
Magic Carpet RideSteppenwolf510
Burning LoveElvis Presley510
(They Long to Be) Close to You      The Carpenters59
The Rainbow ConnectionThe Carpenters     None9
This FireFranz Ferdinand39
WordsBee Gees59
Note: Play Counts reflect the number of times played using the Rhapsody Software on this computer presumably when it was built in March. It is possible they reset on software upgrades.

Surprising to even me, The Carpenters appear to be dominating my playtime. And This Fire -- I don't even like that song that much. 3/5 stars might have been a little generous...

Funny that with so many high-ranking and often played songs The Carpenters don't crack my top artists according to Rhapsody's charts:
1. Shania Twain6. Dean Martin
2. Elvis Presley        7. The All-American Rejects
3. Bee Gees8. John Legend
4. Maroon 59. Bon Jovi
5. Coldplay10. Bing Crosby

Oh yes -- Bob Jovi. It's My Life? 'Nuff said.

Taking it one step further, what are my worst ranked songs?

 Title  Artist  Rating/5     Count
Big Shit Poppin' [Do It]      T.I.21
A Bay BayHurricane Chris21
Party Like a Rock StarShop Boyz23
Oh! Gravity.Switchfoot21
SexybackJustin Timberlake      22

There's actually a bunch of 2/5 star rated songs, but these were at the bottom for whatever reason according to the Rhapsody sorting system. A common trend of these songs seem to be that they repeat a phrase throughout; gets damn annoying. Oh, and there are no 1 star songs because once those are flagged I banish them from my Rhapsody library entirely.

Only about half of my songs have been starred, so there's still plenty of work to do. We'll see if there's something fancy hiding in the rough...

And just because,

NOW PLAYING:
Satellite
Guster
Ganging Up on the Sun
