I will be taking off early tomorrow morning from Sea-Tac Airport to Denver, Colorado. This will mark the second time I have been on a plane this year, meaning that I have been in the air more times in the past six months than I have in the past six years. I will be flying down to Denver to meet up with my good friend Trevor who has worked there for the past ten or so weeks going door to door trying to get people out and vote (hopefully his way). Not wanting to drive alone, he has enlisted my aid in the alleged two day car trip back up to Seattle.
I only know of two events that will happen after I take off: 1: We will be watching the Denver Nuggets take on the Memphis Grizzlies at the Pepsi Center on Sunday night. Without the Sonics in town, this possibly might be the last live NBA action I see until Seattle gets another team... so possibly the last pro basketball I will see for the rest of my life. I'm hoping for a monster game from J.R. Smith (why I am so enamored with him, I do not know), which is made more possible as he might now be the #2 scoring option on the Nuggets with Allen Iverson no longer on the team. 2: We will be passing through Salt Lake City, Utah.
It should be a fun two day trip complete with long bouts of driving and stops at random roadside eateries. However, I really hope I get a chance to stop by a Sonic. Those damn commercials have been running here for too many years with the closest franchise located in Wenatchee (89 miles away). It's time for me to see if the restaurant lives up the massive hype five years of commercials has built up. As I know people will be on the edge of their seats waiting on my every move, expect updates throughout the trip of anything remotely cool.
