I had heard rumors going into the movie that this would be the first Bond film where he didn't say, "Bond. James Bond." Unless I missed it, I don't think it was there -- but that might be the only thing really wrong with the movie. Quantum of Solace was a good Bond action movie through and through. Starting off with an intense car chase, the mood of the movie is set immediately and the action is seemingly non-stop as Bond battles through land, sea, and air. Daniel Craig continues to make the case that he is a solid James Bond, and the supporting cast do their job well -- though the main bad guy is extremely creepy weird. My only critique was that even after the bad guys were stopped (come on, that's not a spoiler! It's a Bond movie!) I didn't feel like there was closure; it felt like there was supposed to be more to the movie until you realize that all the ends were in fact tied up. Besides that, there's not much to the review -- you either like Bond movies or you don't, and this was a good one. I would say better than Casino Royale, and:
My Score: 7/10, Catch in Theaters
I went to a 2:30 matinee showing on Friday (a workday) and the theater was packed. I still can't tell you what Quantum of Solace means.
